Nature & Environment

Our commitment to nature

The grass grows at Agimont, a lot of grass. For ecological and economic reasons, most of this grass is grazed by sheep, goats and deer. A precious natural balance that we preserve every day.

1212 hectares of forest

Animals on the estate

Sheep, goats and deer roam freely on the estate, ensuring natural maintenance of the grounds.

The Goats

Our goats roam freely across the estate. You may have the chance to meet them during your paintball game. They are curious creatures and contribute to the natural upkeep of our grounds.

The Sheep

Mainly found in the cowboy village and on the Walking Dead field, our sheep play an essential role in maintaining the estate's ecosystem. Their natural grazing preserves local biodiversity.

The forest

12 hectares of forest and orchard provide an exceptional natural setting for all our activities. The diversity of tree species and the richness of the undergrowth make our forest a living and precious ecosystem.

Emblematic species

The Greater Horseshoe Bat

The Greater Horseshoe Bat (Rhinolophus ferrumequinum), a protected bat species, has made its home in the castle's tunnels. This remarkable species hibernates in the warmest and quietest areas of the estate during winter.

Characteristics

  • Distinctive horseshoe-shaped nose
  • Ultrasonic frequency of 80 kHz
  • Breeding colonies in warm areas
  • Young bats hunt coprophagous insects in our meadows

The Peregrine Falcon

The Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), the fastest raptor in the world, has been observed on the cliffs of Agimont's rocky promontory. This majestic bird takes advantage of the site's unique terrain and the proximity of the Meuse valley for its spectacular diving hunts.

Beekeeping

Agimont Adventure hosts beehives on its estate, actively contributing to the pollination of local flora. The bees benefit from the floral diversity of our 100 hectares of land and our orchard to produce quality honey. This initiative is part of our overall commitment to preserving biodiversity.
